There Are More for You Than Against You!!
Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.— 2 Kings 6:16 (NKJV)
Have you ever looked at your circumstances and wondered, “Lord, how is this going to work out?”
The opposition looks overwhelming. The situation seems impossible. You have prayed, believed God, and stood on His promises, yet what you see in the natural tells a different story.
But what you see is not the whole picture!
In 2 Kings 6, the king of Syria sent a great army of horses and chariots to surround Dothan and capture the prophet Elisha. When Elisha’s servant stepped outside and saw the enemy’s army, he became afraid and asked, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”
Elisha responded with confidence: “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
Then Elisha prayed that the Lord would open his servant’s eyes. Suddenly, the servant saw the mountain full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha!
The enemy was there, but so was the heavenly army of God, Jehovah Sabaoth, The Lord of Angel Armies!!!
The servant needed a change in perspective!
Sometimes, we become so focused on what the enemy is doing that we forget what we know about God. We see the obstacles, but forget His faithfulness. We see the battle, but forget His promises.
Maybe you are praying for a prodigal, believing for restoration, or facing a situation that seems impossible. Don’t allow what you see today to determine what you believe about God’s faithfulness.
The king of Syria had a strategy, but he did not have the final say. God intervened, and the enemy’s plans were disrupted (2 Kings 6:18–23).
Remember, this doesn’t mean we will never face opposition. It means we can trust God in the middle of it!
Don’t worry. Worship! Keep your eyes on Jesus. Stand on His Word. Keep praying and believing. God is NOT DONE!!
Reflection Questions
What situation has been causing you to feel surrounded or overwhelmed?

Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for reminding me that You are greater than anything I may face. Forgive me for the times I have allowed my circumstances to become bigger in my eyes than Your faithfulness.
Lord, open my eyes to see my situation through the truth of Your Word. Give me wisdom, discernment, and strength to stand firm when I feel overwhelmed. Help me remember Your track record and trust You even when I cannot see what You are doing.
I lift my family and loved ones before You. I pray for those who have wandered from You. Draw their hearts back to You, surround them with Your truth, and lead them into encounters with Your presence. Teach me to pray with faith, love them with wisdom, and leave the outcome in Your hands.
I choose not to be ruled by fear. I will not allow what I see today to determine what I believe about Your faithfulness. Help me keep my eyes on You, stand on Your promises, and walk in obedience.
Thank You for being my strength, my defender, and my ever-present help in trouble. I trust You with the battles I understand and the ones I cannot yet see.
In Jesus’ Mighty Name, amen!
