You Are Anointed for This

For so many years I felt inadequate. If you read my book Touching His Hem, you will see how God took me on a journey of healing due to betrayal. However, what you don’t know is that I went through years of rejection from a young age. I was bullied because I was different. I was a PK (preacher’s kid) and many also bullied me because of my looks. I was called ugly constantly because of my gap and my skin color.

When you are constantly picked on and you don’t feel loved by those that matter most to you, the lies of the enemy can become real to you. This was his setup to get me to believe that I was not loved and I was less than. How many of you can relate?

I wonder if David felt the same way. In first Samuel 16, God told the prophet Samuel to go to the house of Jesse for there he would anoint the new king of Israel. Samuel went there and the first son that came out looked tall and handsome. Of course the Prophet thought that he was the one, but God said, “No.” Samuel was looking at the outward appearance, but God wanted His chosen, David, the shepard, the outcast.

1 Samuel 16:10-13

And Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, “The Lord has not chosen these.” Then Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all your sons here?” And he said, “There remains yet the youngest, but behold, he is keeping the sheep.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and get him, for we will not sit down till he comes here.” And he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy and had beautiful eyes and was handsome. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him, for this is he.” Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward.

You see God will choose the one that has been considered the least in the bunch. The very one that is considered the throwaway.

You may have been rejected, abandoned, abused, or felt like “the black sheep” of the family, but you are the one that God has chosen to be His “ANOINTED!!”

Those feelings of inadequacy lay them at the feet of Jesus. That rejection, low self esteem, etc. lay them down. God is saying to you today, “I have anointed you to be my instrument of change in the earth.”

Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers, Evangelists rise up!!! Carriers of the gospel rise up!!! You were anointed to be a change agent!! Take your place!!! You may not be apart of the five fold, but if you are believer in Jesus Christ, You are His ANOINTED!!!

Mark 16:17-18

And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Psalm 28:8

The LORD is the strength of His people;

He is the saving refuge of His anointed.

Luke 4:18

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,

because he has anointed me

to proclaim good news to the poor.

He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind,

to set at liberty those who are oppressed.

2 Corinthians 1:21–22

And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put His seal on us and given us His Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

Prayer-Father, we thank you. Lord, You are so good to us. Your favor is resting upon us even now. Lord, forgive us for believing the lies of the enemy. We are not rejected or abandoned, but You say we are Your chosen. You said that we are heirs and joint heirs with Christ. We are Yours. Lord, You have an assignment for each of us. Let Your anointing flow through us like never before. Saturate us with Your presence and give us fresh bread from heaven. We desire You and only You. Break every yoke off of us as we enter into Your presence. Fresh oil Lord, we want the fresh oil of Your anointing. Let it fall down like rain and let us walk out each assignment that You have given to us with power and authority. In the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen.
