Be Persistent, Consistent and Unwavering in Prayer

Standing in the gap is not for the faint of heart.

It’s a divine assignment. It is an assignment that requires persistence, consistency, and an unwavering posture of prayer.

Let’s be honest: there will be moments when you feel like giving up. Throwing in the towel. Walking away from what you’ve been praying for. But just when discouragement starts to speak louder than hope, God sends a reminder, a whisper of His promise, a sudden shift, a God “wink.”

I call it electrifying your faith.

I’ve been believing for years for a turnaround in someone I love deeply, a prodigal. And slowly, God is showing me signs of change.

Not always dramatic, but steady.

Not always loud, but undeniable.

Each glimpse is an encouragement from heaven:”I’m working. Keep going.”

God didn’t give up on me in my rebellion. And He won’t give up on my prodigal either. So if He won’t quit, neither will I.

In Luke 18, Jesus tells the story of a widow who wouldn’t stop asking for justice.

She had no advocate. No influence. No status.

In the natural, she was invisible.

But in the spirit, she was fierce.

She kept showing up.

She kept asking.

She kept believing.

And even though she was pleading with an unjust judge, her relentless persistence moved him to act.

“Will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to Him day and night?” Luke 18:7

This isn’t about striving; it’s about standing. Not begging, but believing.

You’re not a desperate outsider hoping for scraps. You’re a daughter of the King. Believing and standing in faith, positioned in prayer, backed by heaven.

You are not invisible.

He sees.

He remembers.

He answers.

Reflective Questions:

1. What area of your life have you been tempted to stop praying about?

2. How can you shift from begging to boldly standing in your God-given authority?

3. Are you weary in the waiting, or are you being strengthened through it?

Prayer:

Father, teach me to pray and not give up. Strengthen my heart when I feel forgotten. Let me approach You not with fear, but with faith—believing You are just, good, and always on time. I take my place today, not as a widow begging for justice, but as a daughter declaring Your promises over my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
