When God Does a Suddenly

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. — Philippians 1:6 (NKJV)
This week, I experienced something that left me in awe of God’s goodness.
As I listened to a teaching, I could literally feel the Lord healing places in my heart that had been wounded. These were areas I had been bringing before the Father in prayer, asking Him to heal. While I expected the process to take months—or even years, as it had at other times in my life—God chose to move differently this time.
He did a quick work.
As truth was being spoken, His Spirit was gently removing burdens, renewing my mind, and restoring my heart. I walked away from that teaching knowing I wasn’t the same person who had sat down to listen.
What touched me most was realizing that God had been answering the very Scripture I had been meditating on:
“He who has begun a good work in you will complete it.”
Sometimes God’s healing is gradual. Like a seed planted in the ground, He patiently nurtures us over time. Other times, He performs a suddenly. In a single moment, years of heaviness can lift as His truth penetrates our hearts.
The timing belongs to Him, but the promise remains the same. He is committed to completing the work He started in you.
If you’ve been praying for healing, don’t lose heart. Keep bringing your heart before the Father. Stay in His Word. Sit under sound biblical teaching. Worship Him. His truth has the power to transform what pain has tried to shape.
Whether your healing comes little by little or all at once, trust that God is faithfully working in you.
The same God who began the work is the same God who will finish it.

Prayer
Father, thank You for never giving up on me. Thank You that You are always working, even when I cannot see it. Heal every place in my heart that has been wounded, and let Your truth renew my mind. Help me to trust Your timing, whether You choose to work slowly or suddenly. I believe You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in me. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
