In the time of waiting, are you waiting well? Do you realize that God is transforming you as you pray for others? While you wait, God is refining you. He is removing those things in you that keep you in the same place. The fire refines!!!
When processing or refining gold it is accomplished through high pressure, heat and various chemicals that are used to breakdown the ore and melt the gold to separate it from the impurities. The gold must be heated to an excess of 1046 degrees Celsius or 2150 degrees Fahrenheit. Now that is EXTREME HEAT!!
You may be feeling the pressure and heat of the fire right now in the wait. The wait may bring disappointment, warfare, discomfort and discouragement, but hold on. All these things are drawing you to the Father. When the heat is turned up just lean into his presence. That is where the refining takes place.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4:7-8 ESV
You can be sure of this, waiting is a process that builds you up as those issues in your heart are being torn down. This tearing down or stripping brings humility and total dependance on God.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalms 18:2 ESV
When you are waiting you may feel like everything is coming against you. However, trust God to teach you the proper way to wait. Wait with joy and expectation of your promises being fulfilled. Wait and help others in your time of waiting. Ask God to show you opportunities to be a blessing to others. When you focus your mind on others during the wait, it will elevate you to the next level of thinking. You become more selfless!!
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Philippians 2:3-4 ESV
Prayer~Father God, we acknowledge you as Lord and Saviour!! Father, we declare that your glory is filling us right now!!! Lord, as we wait for the promise, Lord we ask that you refine us!! Take out the impurities and give us your heart. Lord, we know that waiting is difficult, but as you guide us and keep us we will lean into you. We will worship with abandon. We will cry out to you during the times of frustration and disappointment. You are not surprised by us. You want us to lay it all out before you. Thank you Lord that you don’t turn us away, but you love us unconditionally with an everlasting love. Your love never fails. Thank you Lord. As we wait and go through the refining, show us areas where we can attain more of you. We want to know your heart and have your heart. This is our desire!!! We desire all that you have for us. Let it be so. In the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen.
