Desperation Brings Breakthrough

I want to ask you a question that’s been stirring in my spirit: How desperate are you for God?
We say we want more of Him… more of His presence, more of His power, more of His voice. But are we willing to do what it takes to seek Him with our whole heart? True desperation pushes us beyond comfort. It drives us to our knees, lays down pride, and positions us for encounter.
In seasons of waiting, warfare, and wondering, we can either grow cold… or press in. And friend, I want to encourage you to press in like never before. Let the ache in your heart lead you to the altar. Let the hunger birth fresh pursuit.
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13)
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6)
This is not the time to grow weary. This is the time to become a woman of fire—fueled by prayer, surrender, and a relentless desire for God. He responds to desperation. He draws near to the broken and contrite heart. (Psalm 34:18)
Ask Yourself:
• When was the last time I truly pressed into God with desperation?
• Have I allowed comfort, fear, or disappointment to dull my hunger for Him?
• What is God calling me to lay down so I can go deeper in Him?
• Am I willing to be inconvenienced in order to encounter His presence?
Father,
I come before You with a heart that longs for more. I confess that at times I’ve grown weary, distracted, or complacent—but today, I choose desperation. Stir my soul again. Awaken my hunger. Help me to seek You with my whole heart, withholding nothing. Break anything in me that stands in the way of deeper intimacy with You. I don’t want to settle for surface-level faith—I want to encounter You in the secret place, to be marked by Your presence, and to walk in Your power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
