God Redeems and Restores It All

Have you ever looked back over a season of your life and wondered if too much time has passed… if too much damage has been done… or if certain chapters could never be rewritten?

I have walked through those thoughts in many seasons of my own life. Yet, time and time again, God has proven Himself faithful. He is not confined by time or limited by circumstances. He is sovereign, and because of His great love for His children, He redeems what has been lost, delayed, or even stolen.

When I was in high school, I dreamed of becoming a journalist. My Advanced Placement English teacher submitted a poem I had written to our local newspaper. During my junior year, I even won a writing competition that allowed me to spend a week in Washington, DC with other young people from across the nation. Writing was a dream planted deep in my heart.

But life unfolded differently. I became a soldier, a wife, and a mother. Somewhere along the journey, that dream felt buried beneath responsibilities, seasons of transition, and unexpected turns. It seemed like that part of my story had quietly faded.

Yet God never forgot what He placed inside of me.

In His perfect timing, He brought the gift of writing back to the forefront for His glory. Today, I am preparing to release book number six, and I have the privilege of interviewing authors on my Kingdom Scribes podcast. Looking back, I can clearly see that nothing was lost. God was preparing, refining, and positioning me all along. The dream did not die. It was redeemed.

Here is the hope we anchor our hearts in: God is not bound by time, and He is not intimidated by broken stories.

Scripture reminds us in Joel 2:25,

“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten…”

Notice that God did not promise to simply restore moments. He promised to restore years. That means the seasons that felt wasted, the relationships that felt shattered, the dreams that felt delayed, and the prayers that seemed unanswered are not beyond His reach.

God specializes in redemption. He takes what feels lost and weaves it into testimony. He turns detours into divine appointments. He takes what the enemy meant for destruction and transforms it into purpose, healing, and impact.

Sometimes restoration does not look like returning things to how they once were. Often, God restores by creating something deeper, stronger, and more beautiful than before. His restoration carries wisdom, maturity, and a deeper intimacy with Him that could only be formed through the journey.

If you are holding a situation before the Lord today, whether it involves family, marriage, your calling, your identity, or dreams that feel delayed, be encouraged. Heaven has not forgotten your story. God is still writing, still healing, and still restoring.

✨ It is not too late.

Reflective Questions

• Is there an area of your life where you have believed restoration is no longer possible?

• Have disappointment or delay caused you to lose hope in God’s timing?

• What would it look like to surrender your timeline and trust God with His?

• Can you recall a past situation where God brought beauty from brokenness?

• How might God be using your current season to prepare you for restoration?

Prayer

Father God,

Thank You that You are the Redeemer of time, purpose, and story. You see every season I have walked through,  the joyful ones and the painful ones, and nothing has been wasted in Your hands.

Lord, I surrender the areas of my life that feel delayed, broken, or beyond repair. Heal the places where disappointment has taken root. Renew my hope where weariness has tried to settle in my heart.

Teach me to trust Your timing and Your process. Help me believe that You are still working even when I cannot see it. Restore what has been lost according to Your perfect will. Write my story in a way that brings You glory and brings healing to others.

I declare that my life is not defined by loss, but by Your redemption. I choose to trust that it is not too late for You to move.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
