Obeying The Call Brings Great Reward

One thing I have learned in my walk with God is this: obedience will cost you something, but disobedience costs far more.

Many of you know that I was on assignment in Germany this past week. What is so beautiful about this testimony is that Germany was never in my plans for this year. Honestly, I had no desire to go. In my mind, Europe was completely off the table for me because I did not believe that was where God was calling me.

My mentor had shared that God had put Germany on her heart, but I truly thought, “That is not my assignment.” So I never gave it another thought.

Then one day, while laying on my sofa during worship, I heard the Lord clearly say, “Mary, apply to go to Germany with Prophet Jennifer. It is on My heart.”

When you have relationship with God, you know His voice. You may not always understand His instructions, but you recognize Him. So I applied without question.

Can I tell you something? Obedience does not always make sense to your natural mind. Sometimes God will ask you to step into places you never imagined, simply because He sees something bigger than you can see.

That is why Matthew 6:33 is so important to me. When you truly seek first the Kingdom, you stop stressing over the how, the why, and the what. You simply trust that if God called you to it, He will provide for it. As I always say, if it is His will, then it is His bill. He is Jehovah Jireh—Provider!

And when I tell you God showed out for me…He truly did.

There were beautiful people who sowed into this trip, and I am beyond grateful for every seed that was planted. But God also performed a miracle just for me. I received an unexpected bonus at work that completely covered my airfare, hotel, and food.

Only God can do that.

I sat there in awe because it reminded me again that obedience unlocks provision. When you move when God says move, Heaven responds. God will move mountains, open doors, send provision, and make a way where there seems to be no way.

Some of you are waiting for all the details before you obey, but faith does not work that way. God is looking for your yes. Your obedience may not only impact your life, but the lives connected to your destiny.

Maybe God is asking you to write the book, launch the ministry, forgive the person, pray for the prodigal, move locations, or simply trust Him again after disappointment.

Whatever He is asking you to do—OBEY.

Do not let fear, comfort, logic, or insecurity talk you out of what God placed on His heart concerning you. There is reward attached to obedience. There is provision attached to obedience. There is breakthrough attached to obedience.

Your yes matters more than you realize.

Reflective Questions

  1. What has God been asking me to do that I have delayed?

  2. Am I trusting my logic more than God’s voice?

  3. How has God shown Himself faithful to me in past seasons?

  4. What would change if I obeyed immediately?

  5. Is fear keeping me from my next level of obedience?

Prayer

Father,

Thank You for loving me enough to lead me into purpose. Forgive me for the times I delayed obedience because I wanted understanding before surrender. Teach me to trust Your voice completely.

Give me courage to say yes even when I do not have all the answers. Strengthen my faith to believe that where You guide, You will also provide. Help me to walk in full obedience without fear, hesitation, or doubt.

Thank You for being Jehovah Jireh. Thank You for making ways that I could never make on my own. Let my obedience bring glory to You and impact every life connected to my assignment.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
