Take Courage: God is With You While You Wait

Tick!!! Tick!! Tick!!!! There are days when the weight feels unbearable when you want to fall on your face and weep because you feel rejected, used, or deeply wounded. These emotions are very real. Our feelings can rise and fall like a roller coaster, changing from moment to moment. Yet Scripture gently reminds us not to anchor our lives in what we feel, but in who God is.

In seasons of brokenness, stability is found in the presence of our Lord and Savior. When you call on Him, He hears you. When you cry out, He draws you close and holds you in His loving arms.

Isaiah 59:1 (NLT)

“Listen! The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call.”

God sees every tear you shed. He hears every unspoken cry of your heart. Nothing you carry is hidden from Him. Trust His timing as He strengthens you fully, body, soul, and spirit. His power is greater than anything known to man. He is the Creator of all things, and His heart is restoration, not destruction, especially for those you are praying for and standing in the gap for.

2 Peter 3:9 (NLT)

“The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.”

You may be asking: How do I stay strong during this hard season? When will my breakthrough come? How long do I have to wait?

These are honest questions and God is not intimidated by them. While you are waiting on your loved one, God is also working on you. He is building your spiritual muscles, strengthening your faith, and deepening your trust. Each time you lay before Him in prayer, you are being fortified. Each time you feast on His Word, He supplies endurance, courage, and the power to wait well.

Trust Him daily. Be still. Release control. Allow God to be God.

Psalm 37:7 (NLT)

“Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act.”

Reflective Questions

1. What emotions have been rising to the surface in this season, and how have they been affecting your faith?

2. In what ways can you intentionally turn to God for stability instead of relying on your feelings?

3. Where might God be strengthening you while you are waiting for breakthrough?

4. What would it look like for you to truly be still and trust God with the timing?

Prayer

Father God,

Thank You for being near to the brokenhearted. When my strength feels gone and my emotions feel overwhelming, remind me that You are with me wherever I go. Help me to be strong and courageous, not in my own ability, but in Your unfailing presence. Teach me to wait patiently, to trust Your timing, and to believe that You are working even when I cannot see it. Restore my heart, strengthen my faith, and give me peace as I remain still before You. I surrender this season to You and choose to trust You completely.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
