Wait on the Lord. God’s Timing is Perfect

Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him;

Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. Psalms 37:7

What is the old saying? A watched pot never boils. That may not be ALL the way true, but the whole concept is while you are watching and waiting for this pot to boil you could be doing something else productive. Watching and waiting for that pot to boil is a time waster.

As you are waiting for God’s promises to be fulfilled in your life what has God spoken to your heart about your Now and your Next? Meaning, what can you be doing to make your now better and what can you be doing for your next level.

Somethings to think about for your now:

  1. Get healing of your heart

  2. Praying and interceding for others

  3. Going deeper into the Word

  4. Resting in the Father

  5. Do some much needed self care

Oftentimes, as we are waiting for a promise from the Lord, we can get stuck and make the promise our main focus. Guess what? That is idolatry and it shows that we don’t trust God to do what He promised He would do. I am not saying to do “one and done” type prayers, but if you have placed your situation or circumstance on the throne of your heart where is the room for God?

We must pray about the problem, follow the instruction of the Holy Spirit about the problem and trust that God already has it in hand and keep moving forward in whatever He leads you to do. That is your Next. As you move out on the instructions of the Holy Spirit, He will reveal to you what is Next in increments you are able to handle.

Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”

Let us not get weary as we wait for our promises to be fulfilled. God is truly looking for those that will trust Him no matter how long it takes for the promise to come to pass.

Reflection:

  1. What have you placed higher than Jesus?

  2. How do you plan on making Him Lord?

  3. What are you doing in your now season?

  4. How are you preparing and following the instructions for the next season?

Prayer:

Father, as we surrender our will for Yours and hear Your heart regarding the matter, we will put our complete and total trust in You. We know that You will never leave or forsake us and that every plan that You have for us is good. So we remove worry, fear and frustration from our hearts and we give you complete control. You are forever the Lord of our lives and we will remain Your humble servant. We will have our ear to your heart in daily prayer as You give us instructions and downloads for our now and our next. We will not abort the assignment, but we will remain faithful. We give You all glory, honor and praise, In the Mighty Name of Jesus.
