Are You Following the Leader?

Can anyone be truthful and say that they at times can’t hear God clearly? Yes, I know that His sheep hear His voice, but are there times when you are not being a sheep. Can you discern His voice in those times?

It is in those times that I recognize that it is time to put my flesh on the altar. In this life, you cannot afford to be questioning whether you are hearing the Lord clearly.

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 ESV

Your adversary and mine wants to DEVOUR us!!

I am not saying this to bring about fear, but the Word says be vigilant and that means, be watchful, be aware. How can you be aware if you are not discerning the Father’s voice?

One way to ensure that you are hearing the voice of the Lord clearly is through fasting and prayer.

Prayer is powerful when you pray in faith, but add fasting to that and you have a powerful weapon.

I love what the late Dr. Myles Monroe said, “ Fasting cleans your spiritual pipes.” When your plumbing is clogged there is no flow or the flow is slow. However, fasting or denying your body food for spiritual purposes, cleans out those pipes.

When you fast and prayer you are denying the flesh to draw closer to God. You are telling your flesh no for the bigger yes. You are presenting your body as a living sacrifice. This sacrifice pleases God when you fast for the purposes of drawing closer to Him. (Isaiah 58)

If you want to ensure that you are hearing the Father, fast and pray. You will know that your actions and plans are those that have be laid out by God. Walk out life according to His purposes and plans for you. He is the leader that will never ever lead you wrong.

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
