Childlike faith, what wonder! When you hear those words, what do you think they mean? Innocence? Unwavering belief? Total and complete trust in God? Yes, all of these and more.
Many have walked through this season carrying doubt, fear, and loneliness. Yet the Father’s heart is that you would know His peace and joy even in trials. Jesus invites us to a life of simple, confident trust. A faith that looks beyond what we see and clings to what God has said.
Scripture Meditation
“He called a little child to Him, and set the child before them, and said, ‘Truly I tell you, unless you repent and become like little children [trusting, humble, forgiving], you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.’”—Matthew 18:2–4 AMP
A child trusts. A child forgives. A child follows the leader. When we approach the Father with this posture, our hearts are transformed and we begin to see His promises manifest.
When I was young, I asked my earthly dad for many things. Sometimes I reminded him, but he built a track record of keeping his word. Our heavenly Father’s record is perfect. Even if your earthly father was absent or hurtful, your heavenly Father is faithful and good. He longs for you to enjoy life in Him and to trust that He will bring you through every trial.
Reflective Questions
1. In what areas of your life is God inviting you to trust Him like a child today?
2. Are there past disappointments that make it hard to believe He is a good Father?
3. What step of obedience could demonstrate your childlike faith this week?
Prayer
Father, we come to You in humility and surrender. Create in us clean hearts and renew right spirits within us. We repent for doubting Your goodness and for relying on our own understanding. We receive the guidance of Your Holy Spirit and declare that we will follow wherever You lead. We renounce every lie and assignment of the enemy that has kept us bound to fear or pain. Today we step into newness, walking with childlike faith and wonder. In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
