Fear is Not Your Final Answer!

Fear has a way of knocking on our door when we least expect it. It often arrives through an unexpected phone call, a doctor’s report, or circumstances that seem beyond our control. The question is not whether fear will come. The question is: Will we let it stay?

About three weeks ago, I had my annual mammogram. A few days later, I received the phone call that many women dread: “We saw something.”

For a brief moment, the enemy tried to flood my mind with fear. But I refused to let fear write the story. Instead, I went back to what God has taught me over the years. I began speaking life over my body.

“Mary, your body is in complete alignment with the way God created you.”

I spoke to my body, and I spoke directly to every spirit of fear that attempted to take residence in my mind. I refused to partner with fear because I have learned that fear is not my master—Jesus is.

This week, I returned for my follow-up appointment and received a clean bill of health. Praise God!

As I reflected on the experience, I realized something important: the enemy wasn’t simply trying to attack my body—he was trying to shake my faith. His goal was to knock me off my foundation. But when our lives are built on Christ, we don’t have to accept everything the enemy presents to us.

We always have a choice. We can receive fear, or we can reject it and stand on the promises of God.

Some may ask, “But Mary, what if they had found cancer?”

My answer remains the same: I would still stand on God’s Word.

Over the years, I’ve received difficult diagnoses and faced seasons that tested every ounce of my faith. Has it been easy? Absolutely not.

But it has been worth it.

Every trial has stretched me. Every battle has deepened my dependence on God. Every challenge has become another opportunity to watch Him reveal Himself as Jehovah Rapha—my Healer.

The enemy has tried to take me down by attacking my body. When that didn’t work, he attacked those I love. Yet through every season, one truth has remained unshaken:

Jesus is still the Healer.

Our faith cannot be based on what we see. It must be anchored in who God is. We are called to walk by faith and not by sight. Faith doesn’t deny the facts; it simply declares that God’s Word has the final authority.

Today, if fear has been knocking at your door, don’t invite it in.

Surrender your fear to Christ.

Speak His promises over your life.

Stand firm on His Word.

And trust that the same God who has carried you before will carry you again.

Reflection Question:

What fear do you need to surrender to Christ today, and what promise from God’s Word will you choose to stand on instead?

Prayer

Father, today I surrender every fear, every anxious thought, and every negative report into Your hands. I choose to believe Your Word above what I see or feel. Thank You for being Jehovah Rapha, my Healer. Strengthen my faith, guard my heart, and fill me with Your perfect peace. I declare that fear has no authority over my life because Jesus is Lord. I will walk by faith and not by sight. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
