We Surrender

Excerpt from the Book~ 40 Days of Prayer for the Prodigal

How many feel as if they are in supernatural warfare? Well, in war, the white flag is an international sign of surrender. Whenever there is a war and the losing side sees that their defeat is imminent, many will raise the white flag. This lets the opposing side know that a cease fire needs to take place and their adversary desires to surrender. Let us ponder on this: when your prodigal sees that what they are doing no longer brings them pleasure, when choices they have made have taken them on a downward spiral and where they are is not where they desire to be, it is time to raise the white flag. SURRENDER.

Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

— James 4:7 NKJV

We are praying that our prodigal would lift their hands in surrender to God. Your desire is that the Word of God would overtake their heart and transform them. In the still of the night, you seek after the Lord on behalf of the Father’s sons and daughters. Their surrender is so close to the Father's heart that He has anointed you for such a time as this.

For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

— Esther 4:14 NKJV

Brokenness has brought many of you to this place of prayer. Guess what? Many prodigals are becoming hungry and thirsty because your intercession is causing surrender in their hearts. You may have seen your brokenness as a call to “throw them away,” but God has called you to an assignment of prayer for the very one that hurt you. It is for their salvation, for God’s glory. They are becoming. Your prayer, your intercession, is causing atmospheres to shift in the life of your prodigal. As God moves upon their heart, they have desires that they do not understand.

Desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;

— I Timothy 2:8 NKJV

As their hands are lifted to the Father, the chains of bondage are falling to the ground. Your prayers have pulled down and broken those chains. Chains of anger, broken!! Chains of quarreling, broken!!! Chains of pride, broken!! Their hands are lifted because they know that their freedom rests in God. He is their living hope. No more bondage, only glory.

Prayer~

Father God, we just want to worship at Your feet. We hunger and thirst for You, oh God. Lord, as we seek Your face in worship, we lay at Your feet desiring more of You. Our desire is for our prodigals to lift their hands in worship to You. You are their living bread. Lord, as You touch their hearts, let surrender be their heart's desire. They are submitting, Father. As they submit to You, they are resisting the enemy, and he is running from them. They are leaning into You. Denial of their fleshly desires is our prayer. The stony heart is being transformed. The hole in their heart is being filled with the love of Jesus. Wholeness of heart is causing the prodigals to receive the love of Jesus. We are yet asking, seeking, and knocking as we are in anticipation of the manifestation of Your promises to be completely fulfilled in their lives. Joy is flowing from them. The chains of shame and condemnation are destroyed by the fire of God. Prodigals are walking in victory. Prodigals are surrendered to the One who gave up all for them. It is so! In the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen.
