It’s Time To Take a Bath

God is for you.

But sometimes you can become so convinced by your faults, failures, mistakes, and shortcomings that you begin to believe the lie that God is against you.

And while you are focused on everything you have done wrong, the enemy is whispering accusations:

“God is disappointed in you.”

“You’ve messed up too badly.”

“How could God use someone like you?”

“You’re not worthy.”

“God is finished with you.”

Lies. Lies. Lies.

You are being bombarded with voices that contradict the Word of God.

So, are you believing them?

It’s time for a bath.

Not the kind you take in a bathtub, but the washing of the water of the Word.

Ephesians 5:26 says:

“That He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word.”

—Ephesians 5:26 NKJV

You have to get in the Word and let God’s truth wash over your mind, your heart, and your identity.

You have to speak His Word until the other voices SHUT UP.

God’s Word says:

“If God is for us, who can be against us?”

—Romans 8:31 NKJV

Look at the people God used:

Moses—the murderer.

David—the adulterer.

Gideon—the coward.

Peter—the fighter.

Their failures did not disqualify them from being used by God. And neither do yours.

Your past does not cancel your purpose.

Your mistakes do not cancel God’s love.

Your failures do not change who He is.

God is for you. God loves you. God can still use you.

So stop agreeing with the voice of the enemy and start agreeing with the voice of your Father.

Wash yourself in His Word. Speak it.

Declare it. Believe it.

And when the enemy reminds you of what you did or did not do, remind him of where he is going. Yup.. that’s right!!

You belong to God.

And He is not standing against you.

He is fighting for you.

Reflective Questions

What lies have you been believing about yourself, God, or your situation that contradict what His Word says?

Whose voice has been louder in your life lately, the voice of the accuser or the voice of your Father?

What Scripture do you need to speak over yourself until God’s truth becomes louder than the lies?

Prayer

Father, thank You that You are for me. Forgive me for believing the lies of the enemy and allowing my failures to speak louder than Your Word. Wash my mind and heart with Your truth. Help me recognize every lie and replace it with what You have said about me. I choose to believe Your Word. I choose to believe Your love. I choose to believe that You can still use me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
